Search ResourcesThere are many sites that allow you to search databases by surname. The following are among the best:
Off-The-Web Sources Genealogy research includes many more sources on and off the World Wide Web. In addition to all of the resources offered on the Internet, others can be right at your door step. The following sources are not links because these are paper sources that you need to check out and use. Keep in mind, however, that more and more informational resources are being added to the Web everyday and some of them are listed below. If you can think of anymore, go ahead and add them to your documentation.
Family Reunions Be sure to attend your family reunions. They are an excellent source for finding out more information as well as getting to know your extended family. Genealogy Organizations From the moment you start your research, you will become a dedicated genealogist. You can join organizations such as the United Sates Genealogical Society at www.usigs.org. or your city and state societies. The U.S. Genealogical Society are people who are committed to seeing that the maximum possible number of primary source documents become available on-line and accessible to family and other historians on the Web for free. If you haven't already visited the other pages, please free to visit any one of them now.
